Our pathway programmes help you make the transition between study in your home country and a degree at a UK university.

At the International Study Centre, you will be able to begin your academic journey in a supportive and welcoming environment under the support of expert teachers. After choosing a programme which best matches your degree and career ambitions, you’ll spend time developing your subject knowledge and English language skills in order to progress to your chosen degree programme at university.

International Foundation Year in Accounting & Finance

This stream builds a strong foundation for careers in finance, banking, or accounting. Students will study Business, Sociology, and Mathematics for Business, developing key analytical and quantitative skills essential for roles in accountancy, auditing, financial analysis, and investment banking.

International Foundation Year in Business & Management

This stream gives students insight into how organisations operate, strategise, and adapt to global trends. Through Business, Sociology, and Global Studies or Mathematics for Business, students develop commercial awareness, decision-making skills, and analytical thinking, preparing them for management, consulting, or entrepreneurial careers across sectors.

International Foundation Year in Computer Science

This stream covers the fundamentals of computing, algorithms, and systems. Students study Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, gaining practical and theoretical skills in programming, logic, and systems analysis. It lays the groundwork for careers in software development, cybersecurity, AI, and technology innovation.

International Foundation Year in Engineering

Students in this stream explore how scientific and mathematical principles solve real-world problems. Studying Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry, they gain the analytical, technical, and experimental skills needed for engineering degrees and careers in fields such as mechanical, civil, electrical, or aerospace engineering.

International Foundation Year in Humanities & Social Science

This stream explores society, culture, and human behaviour through Global Studies, Sociology, and Business. Students gain skills in critical thinking, communication, and societal analysis, preparing them for careers in diplomacy, media, research, public service, and social policy across diverse sectors.

International Foundation Year in Nursing

This stream provides a pathway to nursing, focusing on biology, chemistry, and mathematics. Students gain essential knowledge of life sciences and healthcare principles, supporting their understanding of patient care and anatomy. Successful completion guarantees progression to Nursing at the University of Huddersfield.

International Foundation Year in Science

This stream covers biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science. Students study Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics or Biology, building essential theoretical and practical skills. It prepares them for further study and careers in research, healthcare, environmental science, or scientific innovation across industries.
