The International Study Centre offers the following programmes designed to prepare international students for degree study at top UK universities:

  • Business
    Progress to degrees such as International Business Management at universities including Queen Mary University of London, the University of Manchester, and the University of Exeter.
  • Computer Science
    Pathway to degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, and the option to combine Computer Science with subjects like Business, Astrophysics, or Mathematics.
  • Engineering
    Prepare for degrees in disciplines like Civil and Mechanical Engineering at top UK institutions.
  • Science
    Leads to degrees in scientific fields including Physics, Chemistry, Bioscience, and more at NCUK partner universities.

Applicants should have completed their local high school education or equivalent qualifications, such as IGCSEs or O Levels with at least four subjects at grade 4 or above. For English proficiency, a UKVI IELTS score of 5.0 overall, with no subtest below 4.5, is required. The minimum age requirement is 16 years, with students needing to turn 17 by 31 December of the year the course commences.

The International Study Centre provide comprehensive support, including weekly personal tutorials, additional support classes, access to qualified professional teachers with a focus on developing each student to their full potential.

Students can choose from residence and house share accommodation. Residence is ideal for students who value independence, and want to live in a sociable environment with fellow international students.

House share accommodation offers a comfortable, modern living experience in a shared house. Students can choose from twin, double, or single rooms, with access to a communal living area, TV, and outdoor space.

Yes, you can apply online through the NCUK ISC website using our online application form.

NCUK has a diverse student community, having taught students from several countries. This multicultural environment fosters a vibrant and inclusive community.

A UKVI IELTS score of 5.0 overall, with no subtest below 4.5, is required for admission to the IFY programme. Equivalent qualifications may also be accepted; applicants should check specific requirements. ​For students who require visa support, the English qualification must be a SELT (Secure English Language Test).

Upon successful completion of the International Foundation Year, you can progress to a wide range of undergraduate degrees at leading universities in the UK and beyond, including many Russell Group institutions. The programme is designed to support a smooth transition to university, and our expert team will guide you through the application process for your chosen course.
